My $5 Walgreens Shopping Trip

>> Monday, May 2, 2011

I ran in to Walgreens last night to get the toilet paper deal, and ended up walking out of the store with 2 12 packs of Cottonelle toilet paper, 2 small boxes of Cap'n Crunch, 1 Fusion ProGlide Razor, 4 Tylenol Precise Pain Relief heat patches, 1 Airwich Freshmatic, 4 bottles of Right Guard body wash, 1 box of Fixodent, 1 pack of Orbit gum, and 2 Bic lighters for $5.20!

I don't really like dealing with Register Rewards, but I couldn't pass up the deal on the Cottonelle! Even though no one in my home wears dentures, I like to keep the Fixodent handy for cleaning.

What did you score from Walgreens this week? WDG8-V6PMHP-W4DL Don't forget to check out the Walgreens Deals & Coupon matches HERE or on the "This Week" tab on the Adventures of a Couponista Facebook page HERE!

I sure wish I understand exactly how to do this...I don't know what the matches are from or how to find out...I JUST started following your page and blog lastnight...I'm trying to get started at least on a SMALL scale level I could use ALL of the items you picked up in this trip...wish I could figure out how to make it happen for me... :( I've never felt so "slow" about catching on to something in my life....I DID print a bunch of the coupons that you posted last night about (that's a smaller start than I would have hoped, but I'm happy about it) :) Thanks for posting all kinds of GOOD stuff, perhaps eventually it will be less confusing...any words of wisdom or advice on "how to's" to getting started? Is there somewhere to look to find out what some of the terminology means? Like the abbreviation SS for example....I wish I lived near a couponista so I could learn FAST! Super Fast! Congrats on GREAT savings!

still thinking... May 2, 2011 at 5:51 PM

That's awesome, would you mind posting in detail your transactions? Did you start out with any RR?

I really dislike the RR's...but I also got the toilet paper, 2 tylenol precise, noxema razors and bella razors(forgot the brand darn it)2 gillette shaving gel and 2 right guards for under 7.00. I keep forgetting to use the capt'n crunch Q's..I can never find the small boxes!! I will go back though and use the RR's I got from the razors to buy more TP this time it should be compltetely free!!

SS means smart source, RP mean Red Plum and PG means proctor&gamble, RR means register rewards....they are coupons usually in the sunday papers accept the RRs. How I do it is I find my local ad(I shop at smiths) and find what is on sale and then use what coupons I can that make it the lowest or free or even better a money maker. You shop on days that your store does double/triple coupon days and dont buy the big huge bottles of everything.
Example I bought reach floss which was $1.05 using my smiths card I had a coupon for $1.00 off so I only paid .05
I also follow other blogs/websites too. Like freebies2deals, I heart the mart, my litter, Krazy coupon lady, and must love coupons. They all will post the new deals they find but it nice to see how each one does it a little different...

They didn't wanna take my BOGO for the right guard, to be honest I didn't even have any good arguments since I just started using coupons, what do i suppose to say, any help?? Thanks

@Gavean: Print of walgreens coupon policy-it states on there you're allowed to use up to 2 coupons on a bogo sale.

Going out today to see if there are any deals left. Hope I find a few but since Walgreen's are smaller stores they don't have the stock larger stores have...and I waited till Wed. not good I'm sure! I didn't think I would have a use for the Fixodent but then I realized that's what we use to clean my daughter's retainer! Great deal if I can pick them up for free! Also they have the Skinny Cow ice creams on sale and will be able to get them for $1.99 after coupon! I've been wanting to try them for a while now but at the grocery store they are almost $5! Happy shopping ! :o)
