Check out this new “better than free” iPhone app! It’s just another way you can earn rewards like gift cards for absolutely free – and it’s fun too!! I'm still waiting for Verizon Wireless to start selling the iPhone (woo hoo - not long now!!) so until then I am using this awesome app on my iPod Touch!!
How does it work? Well CheckPoints is a free app, that when after you download it, you will get rewarded for “checking in” at various places around town. Earn as many points as you like and trade them in for gift cards – it’s that easy. I love Amazon.com gift cards, so naturally that's what I am aiming for!
For example, let’s say you’re headed to out to go shopping. Open Checkpoints on your iPhone to see what places nearby are available to “check in” at. Let’s say the grocery store is one of those places (and you were planning to go there anyway). Once you get there, “check in” on your phone and poof – you’ve just earned points.
Then the app will tell you if there are other opportunities to earn points be checking out certain products at that store. You’ll get a list of items and when you walk by them, just take a picture of the bar code on the package and you’ve earned more points! No need to buy anything at all!

Follow these steps to get started:
- Download the CheckPoints app for your iPhone from the App Store HERE (Android version HERE!!!)
- Click on the “share” icon, then click on “register”.
- The very first field to enter upon registering is “bonus code”. This is where you want to enter COUPONISTA to get your 300 bonus points. (You just made $1!)
- Whenever you leave the house to go shopping, fire up Checkpoints.
- When you’re ready to cash in your CheckPoints for rewards, you can choose from gift certificates to your favorite stores and restaurants to airline miles and even awesome Apple products! Cash out is only $1, so you don't have to wait forever to get your gift cards!

i understand it is for iphone only...but you can use it with ipod touch? how?

I'm going to try it, but I am nervouse about sharing my location... does it publically broadcast where I am?! That kidna freaks me out..
What happens after you take the picture?
Does it automatically send somewhere with this app?
Or do you have to send each pic somewhere??
